Bake Your Own

Project Year: 2011-12

Recipes and alien exchange

Bake your own was about the children making and exchanging their own aliens and then baking their own food and exchanging their recipes via the wiki or video conference.

The children painted pictures of aliens and then wrote a detailed description which we emailed to our partner school. The description was read and painted from the details given and then both pictures and the description were posted on the wiki. The better the description the more accurate the new drawing!

The children exchanged 'Master Chef' Power Points by videoconference. They baked Mars Bar Fingers, took photographs of the process and put the pictures onto Power Point.

Face-to-Face

Causey Farm, near Kells, Co. Meath. Causey Farm is a working farm where the groups can make art and music together by painting barn walls and playing the bodhrain. The children also have the opportunity to round up sheep, catch hens, hold chicks and get filthy in a bog!

getting mucky

Our day at Causey Farm was mucky but great fun!

Videoconferencing

We video conferenced on average twice a month. These sessions lasted approximately 1 hour and were group to group, except on Dissolving Boundaries Day when all 4 classes came together to share their experiences of Dissolving Boundaries, a recipe, music and song.

Media Gallery

For Dissolving Boundaries Day 2014 we invited schools to send us short video recordings that show what DB means to them. We've pieced these together into a movie!

A documentary about linking schools through ICT; case studies of cross-border links between Northern Ireland and Ireland in the Dissolving Boundaries programme and in Israel through the TEC program.
